I have been to several different lodges on the coastal waters of British Columbia. Rodgers is certainly my favorite. Some of the others are more fancy than Rodgers but I think that is why I like it the best. From the time you arrive at the pick up point until you are dropped off everything is great. This year I had two "rookie" fisherman with me. We had awesome guides ( I won't provide names incase you pick the some week as me in 2016 Ha ha) and we all caught a lot of fish. We limited out on Salmon, Halibut & Ling Cod. We did not even fish on Sunday. The meals are all served home style and all tasted excellent. Accommodations were very comfortable although we spent most of our non fishing time sitting on the deck enjoying the fantastic scenery. Do yourself a favor and book your 2016 fishing trip at Rodgers. For 100 years the Rodgers family has been sportfishing in British Columbia.

It began in 1912 when Doug’s Grandfather, (Joseph) first towed a string of six rowboats from Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver out to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, where he began Rodgers Boat rentals. Joseph had bought 2000 feet of prime waterfront which eventually housed a hotel and a large dance hall. They built all of their own row boats and had the first put – puts on the BC coast.

During the 30’s and 40’s, Doug’s Dad, Howard, rented and chartered boats to sports fisherman looking to land the big one! As well, Howard ran the first water taxi service with his famous boat the Commadore. He serviced places like Britannia Mines, Woodfibre, Port Mellon and Squamish. Twenty nine years ago, Doug started his own charter business in Campbell River. What began as Shoreline Charters with one Boston Whaler and one guide (Doug) grew into Anchor Inn Charters with 17 boats and guide
